Supernormal 2015 marks the sixth episode of this iconoclastic festival, and sees it fired once again by a spirit of innovation to bring a multidisciplinary spectrum of arts, music performance and sound to Braziers Park.
Rather than repeat any kind of formula, Supernormal is determined to forge forward. We’re inviting participation from far afield to bring as many new ideas and fresh perspectives to light as possible.
One of these innovations is the Vortex – a new Blackout audio-visual space that will replace the second stage of yore, and will provide artists of all disciplines the opportunity to produce a truly immersive experience.
Making up the first wave of our programme announcements, we are very excited to announce the following artists:
ANONYMOUS BASH – ARABROT – AHRKH/KHOM/WEAVER – BENJAMIN FINGER – A&E – BONNACONS OF DOOM – BLOOD SPORT – BLOWN OUT – BROKEN DC – CHARLES HAYWARD performing begin anywhere – CRYING LION – EMMA TRICCA – ENGLISH HERETIC – FATHER MURPHY – GHOLD – GUAPO – HIRVIKOLARI – HOOFUS – JENNIFER WALSHE – JOHN – KAREN GWYER – LOWER SLAUGHTER – MIND MOUNTAIN – LAURA CANNELL & ANDRE BOSMAN – NECRO DEATHMORT – NEGRA BRANCA – PADDY STEER – RIE NAKAJIMA & KEIKO YAMAMOTO – RHODRI DAVIES – SHARON GAL – SPECTRES – STEPHEN CORNFORD – STURLE DAGSLAND – TRASH KIT -STARGAZERS ASSISTANT – TREMBLING BELLS – WTVR
We are also delighted to be partnering with Blue Tapes – a boutique cassette label specialising in handmade packaging, alternative process artwork, and curious audio who will present a showcase of national and international artists from their label at Supernormal this year. The first Blue Tapes confirmations are mysterious Italian occultists Father Murphy and Norwegian artist Benjamin Finger, with a Supernormal split release and a Blue Tapes DJ set also in the offing.
As always, there is still plenty more to come – installations and exhibits in the visual arts programme, activities and workshops, performances, DJs, fun times and yet more live music.
As its sixth year approaches, Supernormal remains the alternative’s alternative.
